I just saw Poor Things in theaters yesterday and its a definite 9/10!

The general message is about a woman who is experiencing life, society, through this naive lens of adventure. This weird alternative take on Frankenstein is really interesting.

Cons:

• Very vulgar in sex scenes and nudity (DO NOT WATCH WITH FAMILY) You will be very uncomfortable
• Some unnecessary scenes just for shock factor or anxiety
• Very abstract and easy to grasp for general audiences

Pros:

• Actually funny in a weird way
• Visually stunning in costume and set design as well as the editing
• Emma Stone duh
• Willem Dafoe duh
• Ramy Youssef duh
• Nice messages about
• poverty,
• capitalism,
• feminism,
• toxic masculinity,
• ownership
• Entertaining duh to bits of suspense and comedy

Overall, I see why Emma Stone won that Golden Globe and is nominated for hella Oscars. I’m rooting for Best Cinematography, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, and Best Costume Design. I really think Poor Things and Oppenheimer are going to sweep the Oscars this year.
