It was short-lived indeed…

Now, I love the twilight series and I’ve always eaten up the cash grabs that Stephanie Meyer writes *cough* Midnight Sun *cough* but this one did not live up to the hype sadly.

The things that were great were minimal but valid. I liked learning about vampires learning new things like how they don’t actually die in the sun. Experiencing blood tasting, and hunting for the first time without any knowledge beforehand like Bella. 

This book barely kept my attention because we all know she’s going to die, it made it hard for me to invest in her as a character.

The things I wish here added:

• I wished we got to see Bree Tanner’s life as a human, like what was so bad that she ran into the arms of a vampire?
• More lore about Diego and why Bree was drawn to him?
• More of the teen angst that we loved about Twilight! Where’s that cryptic writing Stephanie? What happened to “I’d never given much thought to how I would die…” I need cool ass quotes like that, that’s what drew me to this series in the first place! I know Bree is nothing like Bella, but still give me something.
• More description of the pain of becoming a vampire, I WANT TO SEE IT! Stop brushing over it, you got away with it with Bella with the whole “she was dead so didn’t feel it bullshit” I wanna see the pain, this is what it takes to become a vampire and it should be explicitly described, not brushed over. You can’t have your cake and eat it too and you’ve been eating A LOT of cake.

Random thoughts and questions:

• Why did Jasper cover her ears and eyes? Who cares if she saw the werewolves, Jane can’t read minds and the Volturi still wouldn’t know about it.
• Why did Jane have to kill Bree? It’s still not clear, is it because Jane is crazy or is it because she’s a loose end to the political plot between the Volturi and Victoria but even then Jane didn’t know Bree overheard that sooooo why kill?
• I remembered in the movie, they had to kill her because she was a “child” but in the books she was older than Jane herself and she doesn’t have any powers so giving her to the Cullens isn’t a statistical advantage
• Why did she write this? This was the most unnecessary thing ever. There are so many more stories that deserve a novella here I can name many…

Books that Stephanie Meyer SHOULD write:

• A NEW MOON RETELLING FROM JACOB BLACK’S POV!!!!!!!! 
• [I’ve been wanting this for a millenia and I would never stop, that bullshit story she wrote on her website was definitely not enough]
  • This would
    • 1) address the rumors and ridiculous claims that Jacob is a pedo* and that Jacob was a bad person when literally Stephanie herself said that he was a kind soul 
    • 2) the sales could be given as a donation to the Quileute tribe and finally right the wrong you did to them 👀 
    • 3) be a whole new lore about the werewolves, give us insight about how the vampires relate to them, the physical changes they go through and life on the reservation and 
    • 4) Give Team Jacob something!!!!! Those damn Team Edward hoes have everything, even Midnight Sun, give us something pleaseeeeeee!!!!! I’m begging on my knees at this point.
      • it would be a whole other genre almost, action-packed, funny, coming of age romantasy
      • {can u tell I’m Team Jacob, no Jacob slander will be tolerated}

• The Origins of the Volutri book
• It could give what the “The Originals” gave for the “Vampire Diaries” but better. Get into the lore of Aro and the war between the Romanian clan as well as the establishment of Vampire Law and the acquiring of special vampires like Jane. It could give Game of Thrones X the Originals, it would be AMAZING
• Just imagine 🤩

• A book about the life of Alice Cullen
• Her story is so interesting and unique, it can be its own book and she’s really popular among the fan base
• “The Long Life of Alice Cullen”
• “The Curious Case of Alice Cullen”
  • a book about a psychic girl who is hunted by a vampire and is put into an asylum, she is turned by a friend, besting the hunter and finds her new family through a vision
  • Tell me that’s not AMAZING! Chef’s Kiss

All of these would be more loved and interesting than little ol nobody Bree Tanner. Thank you for making the illustrated guide and that was very helpful, but we can do more, come on don’t you want to make money???

Well, I’m happy I can finally say I’ve finished the entire Twilight series, books and movies, [I skimmed the illustrated guide but its a guide not a book so chill]

• Breaking Dawn
• Twilight
• Eclipse
• The Official Illustrated Guide
• The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner
• Life and Death (sorry I couldn’t take the name Beau seriously, why Edythe and not just Edwina, anywayssss…)
