I was definitely awake for this one!

It’s literally Elite x 13 Reasons Why 

• It was slow to start but very engaging. It also has a lot of cryptic writing with morse code, anagrams, and a storyline that jumps from time to time to past, future and present. 

• The small reasons why it wasn’t a five star is just because I wanted more lore. 

• I wanted to know more about the like 8 houses of this school (very much gave Harry Potter).
• There were a lot of characters and it was hard to really know each one.
• I couldn’t get over the name Basil de Santos “Baz” for short because his mom likes plants, (he’s supposed to be Brazilian) I just can’t imagine a world where a Brazilian mom would name her son Basil, it took me out of the story a little.
• Also I just couldn’t believe that the popular girls were all POC in a rich boarding school in the UK. I feel like due to racism and statistically small number of POC in no world would there be this many black students and they all happen to be super popular. 
• Don’t get me wrong, I love the characters especially POC ones, but there were like 10 characters (the schoolkid ones) and almost 8 were popular POC, likeeee idk I never lived in the UK but I’m assuming in reality it wouldn’t look like that.

Besides that I loved it and it really had me thinking.. Whodunit!

Overall, this book had me in for a loop, so excited to read whatever this author writes next!

Random thoughts and questions:

• I definitely need to re-read this again because for one, I don’t know whether Sade and Jamila are identical twins or just Fraternal. If they were identical twins, how did Jude not notice immediately?
• How did Elizabeth know that Sade looked like Jamila if she only talked to Jamila online through the anonymous forum, her name was pbjam?
• So Ms.Blackburn didn’t become headmaster, who is Headmaster Tate? Is she a descendant of the founders?
• How did April’s twin brother August not know April was raped like you were in the groupchat with them and you saw her in the photo? If you did know, WHY WERE YOU STILL FRIENDS WITH HIM????? The FUCK, like I know you want to be on the swim team and you don’t interact in the Fishermen groupchat but you’re still fucked up, I can’t believe what you did to Elizabeth, the way I was rooting for you and Sade at the beginning. SMH never again.
• Wasn’t Francis the misogynist who hated Lady Macbeth, now all of a sudden he’s a ride or die for April and revenge killed Jude for raping her??? Hella Sus tbh

I’ll include some British Actors too I guess and not just American ones. Starting with…

• Sade Hussein – Jessica Allain
  • Isn’t she soooo beautiful omggg, she looks like the cover!!!!

• Persephone Stuart– Dove Cameron/Tati Gabrielle
  • I saw Persephone as white the entire time because they said blonde hair and then randomly towards the end of the book they said she was in the “Black Bitches Group chat and I was like huh, so yea this is the person I would choose for that based on the two descriptions

• Juliette DeSilva – Avantika or Simone Ashley
  • People might say that Simone Ashley is too old to play a teenager (as if she wasn’t playing a teenager a few years ago on Sex Education…) Anyways Avantika would be a good runner-up. They are both GORGEOUS!

• Jude Ripley – Callum Turner
  • Hot AF and perfect for this role

• Francis – Kit Conner
  • Perfect Redhead to play this stoner lol

• Elizabeth Wang – Minnie Mills or
  • Just GORGEOUSSSS

• Basil dos Santos – Jan Luis Castellanos, or Malique Thompson-Dwyer
  • An American and a British option, side note: Baz reminds me of Tao’s character from Heartstopper

• April Owens – Ryan Destiny
  • Do I even need to explain this one?

• August Owens – Kedar Williams Sterling
  • He already played a swimmer in Sex Education
